Middle East Conflict Escalates as Energy Sites Come Under Attack

The Middle East is under a serious series of attacks due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel-US. They are targeting critical energy infrastructure. Following an Israeli strike on Iran's South Pars gas field, Iran retaliated by attacking Qatar’s Ras Laffan energy complex and launching missile barrages toward Israel, damaging an oil refinery in Haifa. Iran has warned of "zero restraint" regarding further attacks and has effectively halted shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, causing European gas prices to double. While a US F-35 jet made an emergency landing after a mission over Iran, President Trump stated there are no plans for ground troops, even as the Pentagon reportedly seeks $200 billion in additional war funding. International leaders, including UK PM Keir Starmer, have condemned the attacks for risking a global economic crisis.
